I'm not sure what you mean here; not to question your sincerity at all, I honestly don't understand the question.

Can't anyone upload an ISO file and let host it?

Doesn't let one host any kind of file one wishes, so long as one has permission to share the data?

Or are you wondering about's derivative file creation ability? I'd suspect won't create any derivatives of a CD image file.

I'm particularly interested in this issue because I plan to upload a couple of 8GB ISO DVD image files, all the data on the DVDs are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license, so what I'm about to do is legal to share worldwide in perpetuity. In my case, it's just a matter of finding a fast enough network to upload the image files.

Well, like many of rar or exe uploads here lately, iso and bin files have lately been coming into opensource collections with little or no metadata, and often have "bad content" such as commercial materials or malware.

If you do plan to upload material from which onsite derivatives cannot be made (in other words, that will be "invisible" until after a lengthy download commitment and post-download prep by the user), I strongly recommend that you clearly and truthfully describe the contents as best you can, in English. Otherwise, it runs a higher risk of being removed. Thanks!
